This experience can be seen through many different attractions, such as The jail cells that once housed prisoners (and still do on occasion)—old courtrooms where criminals were tried for their crimes against society. Vintage mine equipment was used in dangerous coal mines throughout Merced County during the late 19th century. Families dressed in old clothing represent how people would dress at home while recovering from injuries or sicknesses like typhoid fever and smallpox.
